Running Program 🎬

This page explains how to start and run the program, including steps for both ScreenBased and VR setups.

🧍‍♂️ Before the Participant Arrives

⚠️ Important: Only begin setup 5-7 minutes before the participant arrives. The controllers, headset, and base stations might automatically turn off after a period of inactivity. Setting up too early may require restarting devices or relaunching SteamVR.

1. Turn on the Computer 💻

   • Press the power button on the PC.

   • Log in using the password written on the sticky note.

2. Ensure Computer Volume is at 100% 🔊

   • Click the speaker icon in the taskbar.

   • Set the volume to 100% to ensure audio cues are clearly heard in the headset.

3. Power On the Controllers (🕹️ VR Only)

   • Hold the System button on each controller until you hear a audio beep. (note controllers will auto turn off after xxx min)

   

4. Check SteamVR Status (👓 VR Only)

   • Open SteamVR.

   • Make sure the headset, controllers, and base stations are all green (detected).

   • ⚠️ Note:

     • If the headset icon is only an outline, it means no one is wearing it yet — this is expected.

     • Once someone puts on the headset, the icon should fill in solid green.

   • If anything is “Not Detected,” refer to the Troubleshooting ⚠️ 🧑‍💻 VR Headset Not Displaying Anything / Not Detected section.

   

🧠 With the Participant

1. Adjust the Headset 🧑‍🔬

   • Have the participant put on the headset before launching the application.

   • Adjust headset straps for a snug and clean fit.

   • ⚠️ The participant must be wearing the headset before launching the program.

2. Launch the Application 🚀

   • Double-click the desktop icon.

   

   • When prompted, click “Yes” to grant administrative rights to Vive-Super-Reality-SR_Runtime. (Vr Only 🕹️)

   

   Click Yes on the pop up

3. Program Will Run Automatically ✅

   • After launching, the program handles scene loading, data capture, and eye calibration.

   • refer to VR Headset Calibration Guide 👤IPD adjustment if participant has trouble locating the IPD adjustment knob during calibration.

   • Monitor participant as needed.

   • ❇️ Program will auto close when done.

Need to Exit the Program ✌️?

Press the Windows key, hover over the application in the taskbar, right-click, and select “Close window.”
